Oto comes as part of a tinnitus care plan from a participating audiology clinic, and the cost depends on what’s in your plan. A basic care plan without devices typically costs between $500 and $1,000, set by each clinic, with the Oto app included. If your plan includes hearing aids or another device, Oto comes at no extra cost alongside it. Your clinic also sets how long you keep the app: most give around 12 months, and some give lifetime access.

Why prices differ between clinics
Each clinic sets its own pricing, and the biggest factor is whether your plan includes hearing devices.
Tinnitus and hearing loss often go together. If your evaluation shows hearing loss, your audiologist may recommend hearing aids or other sound devices as part of your plan, and these change the overall cost. If your hearing is fine, your plan will usually sit in the $500 to $1,000 range.
Many clinics accept HSA and FSA funds, and some offer monthly payment options. Your clinic will always talk you through what’s in your plan and what it costs before you commit to anything.

A care plan covers your specialist care and daily support for one upfront price, where one to one therapy is usually billed per session.
Seeing a therapist one to one for CBT in the US commonly costs between $100 and $250 per session, and a typical course is around six sessions, so you’d expect to spend roughly $900 in total. Therapists who specialize in tinnitus can also be hard to find locally.
A care plan that includes Oto works differently: you pay your clinic once, then use the app’s exercises every day at home while your audiologist follows your progress and adjusts your plan.

- New accounts are set up by a participating provider, so there is nothing to buy in the app itself. Earlier versions of Oto offered a self guided subscription. Following our clinical research program, Oto moved to provider led care, and if you subscribed to an earlier version your access continues as normal.
- Is the Oto app free?
- The app is free to download, and your provider creates your account as part of your care plan. There is no separate subscription to pay for.
- Does insurance cover an Oto care plan?
